Metro Access: Fairlington does not have easy metro access, but buses feeding into the Pentagon transfer station run along King Steet. and through Fairlington’s main thoroughfares. Commuting downtown from Fairlington is easy by car.
Interstate Access: Inside the Beltway, Fairlington has easy access to I-395 by way of King Street.
Closest Attractions: Fairlington offers quick access to DC., Old Town, and the Shops at Shirlington. Fairlington itself is of some historical significance. Originally constructed by the Federal government during World War Two for defense workers, its unique colonial design and campus-like feel make it a mecca for recent graduates, and party-goers who prefer the Virginia-side of the Potomac but still want to be close to it all.
Restaurants: Fairlington itself does not have restaurants, but the dining hot spots at the Village at Shirlington are very close. Fairlington offers very quick access to the huge variety of dining options in and around Old Town Alexandria, Pentagon City, and Crystal City.

Neighborhood Description: Constructed between 1942 and 1945, Fairlington offers a unique living experience in homes originally constructed by the Federal Government during WWII. Now officially designated a historic area by the Commonwealth of Virginia, Fairlington feels more like a leafy college campus than a condominium development.
Number of Homes: Straddling I-395, Fairlington consists of seven independent condominium associations that make up North and South Fairlington. Architectural style is colonial, and you’ll find one, two, and three bedroom town homes and apartment homes. Fairlington also offers community pools and a recreation center.
